Embroidered patches for space missions have been around since the early days of human spaceflight. They serve as a symbol of human curiosity, innovation and as a way to honor these ambitious projects.

This design is inspired by the four selected proposals for future missions of NASA’s Discovery Program in 2020. The four missions deal with Venus’ atmosphere (DAVINCI+), the volcanic activities on IO (IVO), the active icy surface of Triton (TRIDENT) and Venus’ geologic history (VERITAS).

Eventually, after further development of all concepts, NASA decided that DAVINCI+ and VERITAS will become official missions.
