Lucy is a NASA mission that launched in 2021. It will be the first to visit the Jupiter Trojans, a large group of asteroids sharing the same orbit around the Sun as Jupiter.

Lucy will explore eight Trojans plus three main belt asteroid to learn more about the primordial material that formed the outer planets. As such, Lucy will be also the first spacecraft to visit this many different targets. The mission is part of NASA’s Discovery Program.
