This is an archive of emblems that I design as an ongoing personal project.

Embroidered patches for space missions have been around since the early days of human spaceflight. They serve as a symbol of human curiosity, innovation and as a way to honor these ambitious projects.

In 2020 NASA’s spacecraft New Horizons sent pictures back to Earth showing two stars in a different position than where you see them from Earth.

The nearby stars Proxima Centauri and Wolf 359 appear to “shift” their position, relative to other, more distant stars. This is possible because of the huge distance of the spacecraft from Earth. At 7 billion kilometers away, it allowed the first demonstration of an easily observable stellar parallax. This parallax effect has been used for a long time to measure distances to stars.
