This is an archive of emblems that I design as an ongoing personal project.

Embroidered patches for space missions have been around since the early days of human spaceflight. They serve as a symbol of human curiosity, innovation and as a way to honor these ambitious projects.

In Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU) describes the utilization of existing materials on other celestial bodies instead of transporting resources there from Earth. For example, ESA is currently developing a lunar surface mission, which will demonstrate the production of water and oxygen for life support with local resources.

It’s a simple and at the same time pretty fundamental principle which isn’t only applicable to space exploration but also to earthbound design. A sustainable approach for the analog and digital world.
