Embroidered patches for space missions have been around since the early days of human spaceflight. They serve as a symbol of human curiosity, innovation and as a way to honor these ambitious projects.

Growing food in space is inevitable for long-duration missions and the colonization of other planets like Mars. Testing systems to make greenhouses work in space is the goal of projects like Eden ISS. It successfully grew vegetables, salad ingredients and herbs in its greenhouse in the inhospitable environment of Antarctica.
